Mahlon is an experienced composer whose music screened at the Chicago Fashion Film Festival, the Sacramento International Film Festival and the Fashion Film Festival Milano. Mahlon won Best Score at the 2017 Canadian International Fashion Film Festival for MONO – Y. He worked as an assistant to Darius Holbert, and was a scoring intern for Bear McCreary. Mahlon composed a cutting-edge opera (PUCK) together with his dear friend Benjamien Lycke. He also orchestrated music by Eren Önsoy for the award winning documentary Naziha’s Spring. A participant in the 2013 NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop, Mahlon was a Dean’s Award Scholar at Indiana University, and New York Art Ensemble Emerging Composer in 2011. He completed a Master’s in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music and a Bachelor of Science in Composition and Philosophy at the Jacobs School of Music. Mahlon studied composition with Howard Davidson, Sven-David Sandström, Enrica Sciandrone, Francis Shaw, and Claude Baker. He studied piano with Oxana Yablonskaya, Joanna Chao, and Edlina Dubinsky.
